We all needed a friend like Jasmine because she would always be there for you – even when Monse got into a fight with Vero, Jasmine was ready to jump in. I just wish other people were there for her like she was for them, especially when she didn't get to go to Berkeley. It got taken away from her, but she remained a queen till the end. We all knew that Cesar wasn't over Monse one bit, but she was still there for him when no one else was. It got worse when he didn't even consider her feelings when she caught Monse and Cesar together. May I remind you they were dating! Nevertheless, she lived up to the definition of a ride or die. I wasn't her number one fan because she kissed Cesar, and that was Monse's man! But all is forgiven as she was one of the most unfortunate characters, gone way too soon. Olivia and Ruby's relationship was the cutest, so It would have been interesting to see it develop. In the final series, we learned she had cancer (which she’d eventually die from). It was heartbreaking for all of us as she was one of the main reasons we kept watching it – she brought so much to On My Block, so Abuelita needs to be given the credit she deserves. It was nice to see him building a family and creating a loving space around him. Even till the end, he wanted everyone to be together, but happiness was cut short when he was murdered. It was a shock to all of us, and I still don't understand why his character had to leave the show. We wanted to see him happy! Kendra's humour complemented Jamal's so well that I wish we saw their relationship develop. She deserved more screen time because something was intriguing and mysterious about her which had viewers wanting more. Only in the final series did we get to see a pinch of that, and it wasn't enough – but can we talk about how she ran away from Jamal in the last episode? All I can do is laugh. You could see the love they shared and how important it was for Cesar to be part of the family too. After Oscar died, we realised she would have to go through all the stages of motherhood by herself. His loyalty and selflessness made him always be there for his friends – but when it came to finding that Rollerworld money, it took a lot of persuading. Yes, it would be hard to believe, but sometimes it just felt like it was Abuelita and Jamal against the world. So, some could say he deserved better friends! It annoyed me that Monse kept going back to Cesar when she deserved better than his hot and cold behaviour. May I remind you that after they slept together she asked him to the dance and he had the audacity to reject her and go with Vero! I wish we got to see Monse explore her options and develop new relationships within the series because Cesar wasn't it. Thankfully we got to see some of that happiness within his relationship with Jasmine – but because of Latrell's actions, Ruby would never be the same again. Whenever I think of Chivo, all that pops into my head is him saying "I'm so hype" with a straight face. His nonchalant attitude made the back and forth conversations between him and Jamal funnier than they should have. But it should have been shown more! If we'd got a scene between him Jamal and Abuelita, my life would have been complete. Latrelle may seem hardcore on the outside, but on the inside, he's a terrified kid who doesn't want to turn eighteen. I believe that people would've related to his story or even learned something from it if the series had dug deeper – plus, why would you waste such a hot character?
