In week three of Drag Race UK we sadly had to say goodbye to TWO major contestants BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy In episode three of the series, the queens were met with their very first design challenge in which they were tasked with turning camping equipment into TWO high fashion looks – "hello campers" and "campfire couture". The hilarious Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls, Bridgerton) joined as the guest judge. First up the pioneering AFAB queen Victoria Scone was forced to leave the competition due to a knee injury Then in a high stakes lip sync against Vanity Milan season two returning queen Veronica Green was sent home BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy We spoke to both queens about their time on the show – here s what they had to say BuzzFeed BuzzFeed UK: Before we begin, we have to get to the bottom of it. Is it scone rhyming with own, or scone rhyming with gone? Victoria: I say scone, as in "Where is Victoria? Victoria's gone", and now I really have, haven't I? BuzzFeed UK: Obviously we're very sorry to hear about your injury. How is your knee doing? Victoria: It's doing well, thank you. It was quite serious at the time, really I was in a bit of denial about how injured I was. It was a partial tear to my ACL, which luckily didn't mean any surgery but lots and lots of physiotherapy! It's all good now. I'm still jumping into splits and doing things I probably shouldn't. BuzzFeed UK: Glad to hear you're back at it! What was it like watching the episode back? Victoria: It was difficult to watch, and then it was sort of a swift "on with the show", as Ru says. The show just carries on without you, doesn't it? BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy BuzzFeed UK: I was expecting more of a Eureka style announcement, but there was more of an announcement in episode two than there was in episode three. Victoria: Yeah, absolutely, but as Ru said – "you haven't seen the last of me yet". Whatever that means! BuzzFeed UK: I was going to ask – when are we finding out about the open invite to season four?! Victoria: Well, you tell me, dear! You probably know as much as me! They're still steaming season three at the moment, so I guess they're a bit busy. BuzzFeed UK: What's the fan reaction been like to you being on the show, and then to you leaving?Victoria: From announcement to actually being on the show, it's been incredibly positive, which is humbling. To be received so warmly is just amazing. I love all my "Sconely Fans". BuzzFeed UK: Sconely Fans, that's too good! Victoria: Are you a Sconely Fan, dear?BuzzFeed UK: Of course, and I'm subscribed to your Sconely Fans. Victoria: Have you caught Sconorrhea?BuzzFeed UK: Yes, I cannot get rid of it! Victoria: There's no cream for that - only jam. View this photo on Instagram Instagram: @victoriascone BuzzFeed UK: Let's talk about when Krystal designated you "star buy" in episode two. How did her jibe about you being the "biggest" make you feel? Victoria: Well, I love a fat joke, of course; I say them myself a lot. I love traditional British humour and insult comedy – I'm all about that! But there is a time and a place, and obviously Krystal learned that very quickly. I understand the mentality behind what she did, and I know there wasn't any real malice to it. To be fair, she's not wrong – I was the biggest in the room, and I'm very happy about that! I like being big. BuzzFeed UK: And you were also the biggest competition in the room! Victoria: And that too, yes.BuzzFeed UK: We previously spoke to Tia Kofi about being your drag mother, but let us know – how did Tia get you started? Victoria: It was actually though a competition we have in the UK called Drag Idol. My first time ever performing in drag was at the Two Brewers in Clapham. Tia was there – she was judging it I believe – and she's been there ever since! BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy BuzzFeed UK: Who are you rooting for now to take the crown? Victoria: I haven't put enough thought into that yet. Me... is that a good enough answer? BuzzFeed UK: Are there any judging moments you personally didn't agree with? Victoria: I think I should have won that first lip sync, but when the gunshot went off in my knee, my mind went blank. All the words to Welsh Icon Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" drained from my mind, which I'm absolutely ashamed about. I'm probably more devastated about that than having to leave the competition!BuzzFeed UK: Last question – what's one word to sum up your time on the show? Victoria: Big. It was big! It was big in the context of being groundbreaking, I'm big, I had big fun. BuzzFeed BuzzFeed UK: Well hello Sandra Dee, don't you look amazing! Veronia: Tell me about it, stud. BuzzFeed UK: How are you doing this morning? Veronica: I'm actually doing alright. The episode was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I had a little cry, but I feel like this massive weight has been lifted now. BuzzFeed UK: You posted on your socials about how hard it was going from season two to season three – why did you do that? Veronica: People don't realise how close together the two seasons were filmed. Season two was on the air when season three was filming, and we'd only just finished filming the finale when I got the offer. I had a couple of weeks to decide, meanwhile we were doing the launch of season two. I hadn't worked in a whole year, and I had to get everything together for season three during that launch period. It was tough – really really tough. But I'm not a quitter, I'm a fighter, and I wanted to show people that you can still follow your dreams even if you're going to fall short. BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy BuzzFeed UK: You make a really great point that even I, as a Drag Race fan, never really considered – you had to prepare every single runway for season two, and then do it all over again for season three. Veronica: Yes, I think it was something like 52 looks in total – 27 for season two, and about the same for season three. That's a lot of looks to get together, and when you're a working class person whose family doesn't come from money, it's one of the hardest things in the world. The saying "you don't need money to do drag" is absolutely true, but you do need money to do Drag Race. The fanbase expects you to be perfect coming out on the runway. It's dubbed the olympics of drag, and you've got to be able to compete with the best of the best. BuzzFeed UK: Did you find there was more pressure coming back as a returning queen? Veronica: Oh 100%. I knew I was going to be judged differently. I'm coming back knowing the game, so people expected me to have elaborate costumes and better comedy. BuzzFeed UK: Speaking of, who were you planning to do for Snatch Game? Veronica: My choices were Hilary Devey from Dragon's Den and Jane McDonald, but my ultimate choice was Kate Bush. That was my ace in the hole! I had amazing jokes planned and I was ready to have a comedy Ru-demption. My Kate Bush was going to be hilarious... well I think so anyway! BuzzFeed UK: Hopefully we can still see it someday! Veronica: Oh, as soon as I can release the audition tapes, people will see it. Or if there's ever an All Stars of course. BBC/World of Wonder/Guy Levy BuzzFeed UK: What was your favourite moment from season three? Veronica: The ballbusters routine! Learning the routine and being able to work with someone like Oti Mabuse was a dream come true for me. BuzzFeed UK: I don't think riding a bike or using a workout ball is ever going to be the same again for a Drag Race fan! Veronica: Especially not with me in that blooming leotard! I'll tell you what happened there, I completely forgot to bring boy clothes with me! I didn't bring anything, so when it came time to it I was like, well, I guess I'm going to have to wear this! BuzzFeed UK: That explains it! So, final question, what's one word to sum up your time on the show? Veronica: One word? Gruelling!
