And for those feeling really hungry – or soothing a particularly bad hangover – this week Morrisons launched the Big Daddy Breakfast in its in-store cafés, featuring an impressive 19 items on one plate. Morrisons Big Daddy Breakfast (right) next to their classic cooked breakfast With 8 more items than Morrisons’ standard cooked breakfast, the Big Daddy certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted. Order one of these and you’ll be served up three 100% British pork sausages, three rashers of bacon, two fried eggs, two halves of tomato, three hash browns, two slices of black pudding, a 110g serving of baked beans, 60g of sliced mushrooms – and if that wasn’t already enough – two triangles of fried bread (because regular toast just wouldn’t cut it here). We’re feeling full already. The jumbo Big Daddy Breakfast – the largest breakfast served in a UK supermarket cafe – is also pretty good value for money at only £6, and there’s no washing up at the end of it either. Although it might be a little overwhelming for some. ‘Our standard cooked breakfast is one of our most popular meals on the menu, but customers have asked for one that’s even bigger,’ explains Helen Tordoff, Head of Cafés at Morrisons. ‘The Big Daddy Breakfast is an excellent choice for customers with a big appetite.’ If you know someone who could polish off all 19 items, the special super-size edition is available in Morrisons cafés from 28 May – 24 June. (A Father’s Day weekend treat, perhaps?) Conquer one of these mega breakfasts and we reckon you’ll be set up for the rest of the day – and maybe the next day too. The only question is will you be tucking into your king-sized cooked breakfast with a dollop of ketchup or brown sauce?
