YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life John Lewis’ s bauble hanging trick will transform the way you decorate your tree By You Magazine - November 24, 2020 Decorating the tree has got to be one of our favourite Christmas traditions – just the thought of popping on a playlist of Mariah, Bublé et al, digging out the box of baubles and attempting to get the tree standing upright while munching mince pies and sipping mulled wine is giving us all the festive feels. Getty Images And with 1 December all but days away, the tree decorating ceremony is in sight. Lots of people have their own theories on how best to decorate the tree – is it tinsel or lights first? A few select baubles in a themed colour palette or throw everything at it and see what sticks? What we do know is baubles will feature in there somewhere, but we bet you didn’t know you’ve been hanging baubles wrong all your life. John Lewis recently released a video to Instagram featuring John Lewis’s resident Christmas expert Dan Cooper, who shared some nifty tips and tricks on how best to adorn your tree, and one incredibly simple hack in particular caught everyone’s attention. ‘A great little tip,’ Christmas Shop buyer Dan starts, ‘is to hold onto the cap [on top of the bauble], pull out the little pin in the top, place that pin over your selected branch and pop the clip back in.’ Well we never… No more wrestling with the tree, attempting to shove baubles over the needles on the branches (and stabbing ourselves in the process), Dan’s tip will be revolutionary in how we go forward with our tree decorating forever. Getty Images And we aren’t the only ones who have apparently been hanging baubles wrong. One person commented: ‘I never knew that’s what the bauble clip did. Best thing I have learned all year.’ Another impressed viewer said: ‘The tip about taking the bauble clip out! How have I gone my whole life not knowing that!’ While another tagged all her friends in her comment to ask them: ‘did you know this about baubles, that the round bit comes out and you attach it to the tree and clip it in ?!?!?!’ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Everything we know about The Crown season 5 Aldi s exercise equipment is on sale with up to 50% off The best Halloween events for 2022 across the UK Popular in Life Groomzillas Brace yourself for a new breed of monster rampaging down July 7, 2019 Elizabeth Day Sorry can t make your party I m on the sofa August 11, 2019 Using these 10 words makes you middle class apparently September 9, 2019 Megan Phelps-Roper ‘ I was born to preach hate I chose to October 6, 2019 Dr Clare Bailey No energy You may need an iron boost November 10, 2019 Emma Winterschladen Meet the mega matchmaker December 1, 2019 Dr Clare Bailey Comfort joy… and a festive hug December 22, 2019 Elizabeth Day I’ m not grumpy… it’ s just my face January 19, 2020 Elizabeth Day Oh the joy of knowing nothing February 16, 2020 This postcard is a sweet simple way to help others during March 16, 2020 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
