Photography by Michael Sinclair, Styling by Olivia Gregory Paloma, what do you love about maximalism? I strongly believe, the bigger, brighter, and busier the better. When I first started putting the bones of our London house together, people wondered how it was all going to work together – but somehow it does! I think the collection is also like that – it shouldn’t work but somehow it just does. That’s really the spirit of what I wanted to create with Paloma Home. Photography by Michael Sinclair, Styling by Olivia Gregory As a Cancerian, I’m a self-confessed nester – home is everything to us, we crave cosiness. I grew up with a mum who loved the clean 60s minimalist aesthetic (all white and modern); my style is entirely the opposite, which I think is my decadent (and slightly cluttered) rebellion! How do you create a maximalist feel at home? More is more! Be bold, so much beauty emerges from chaos. I recommend starting with cushions and adding from there! Choose prints that you really love and don’t be afraid to keep adding pieces as you find them. Wallpapers are a great way to add a maximalist backdrop for simpler pieces of furniture, I can’t wait to re-wallpaper one of my rooms with a print from my Paloma Home collection. Photography by Michael Sinclair, Styling by Olivia Gregory Do you have any hints/ tips about decorating with pattern and colour? I dress a room as I dress myself. I quite often start with one thing, with any outfit you might start with a pair of shoes, with a room you could use a chair or cushion. A fearlessness of colour is important. You need to dress a room – acknowledging the bricks and mortar of the space too. Photography by Michael Sinclair, Styling by Olivia Gregory What I love so much about Paloma Home is that you can have one piece and it changes a room – or you can embrace the whole collection, and somehow it still works! Where do you find interesting pieces for the home? I’m totally addicted to antique markets like Ardingly, thrift stores when travelling around America, and eBay – I actually managed to do my house up entirely using second-hand pieces. I just love the opulence of retro glamour and vintage design Thanks Paloma!
