YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity The Queen has an impressive hobby that’ s already earned her £100 million By You Magazine - September 20, 2019 Queen Elizabeth II may already have an incredibly busy schedule whilst upholding her royal duties, but that hasn’t seemed to stop her from having her own project on the side – one that has reportedly brought in £100 million of extra cash. Getty Images Yep, while the rest of us rack our brains on a daily basis for a grand idea that will lead us to the jackpot, Her Majesty is making a brain surgeon’s wage from her favourite hobby – collecting stamps. The monarch is the lucky owner of an impressive collection of stamps which are said to be worth a whopping £100 million, reports The Telegraph. In fact one stamp alone, a Mauritian stamp that was shown in a travelling exhibition to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, is believed to be worth £2 million. So its safe to say that if there was a competition on side hustles, Queen Liz would certainly be a front runner. The Queen, who is already has a net-worth of $530 (£422.66) million outside of her hobby, according to Forbes, is said to be very proud of her collection, with royal expert Phil Dampier revealing that she likes to show it off to her guests at Buckingham Palace as reported in Fabulous. Getty Images ‘The Queen loves showing her stamp collection to visitors, say heads of state who stay at Buckingham Palace,’ Dampier told the publication. ‘It is one of her pride and joys, not only because she owns some of the world’s most valuable stamps, but also because she has built on a family treasure and feels she has done her father and previous monarchs who owned it proud.’ As you can expect, the Queen doesn’t actually need money as the Crown Estate takes care of her financially. But should she ever need a fund for a rainy day, she’s certainly covered.
