Legendary presenting duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan will be making a long-awaited return to our TV screens and there’s not long to wait. Getty Images The couple, who are married as well as being on-screen partners in crime, will be coming back to This Morning for the first time in 18 years. Richard, now 63, and Judy, who is 71, hosted the popular ITV daytime show – which is now reigned by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – for a decade together, after launching it 31 years ago. Now, ITV has revealed that the couple are returning to stand in for Ruth Langsford and Eamon Holmes next month to host a full two-hour show. Expressing their excitement to be back on the famous sofa in a joint statement, the couple said: ‘This Morning holds a very special place in our hearts, so we couldn’t be more delighted to take the helm once again.’ Getty Images This Morning Editor, Martin Frizell, also added: ‘The This Morning family, both in the studio and at home, have been wanting to see Richard and Judy guest present the show for a while now. The time finally felt right and we can’t wait to have these broadcasting legends back on the sofa.’ Richard and Judy will host the show on Friday 25 October, so mark your calendars. Despite the break from This Morning, Richard has continued his career as a presenter often appearing on Good Morning Britain. It was even recently rumoured that he could be heading to the jungle later this year for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. Speaking to GMB’s Susanna Reid at the Royal Television Society conference, the hit reality show’s presenters Ant and Dec revealed that they wanted Richard on this year’s series. Time will tell if they make it happen!
