YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Fashion The key trends from Milan Fashion Week AW18 By You Magazine - February 28, 2018 With bated breath, the fashion crowd witnessed Milan Fashion Week’s continued no-holds-barred attitude to making a fashion statement with Versace producing a feast for the eyes with colour, Dolce & Gabanna’s provoking slogans and Luisa Beccaria redefining feminine dressing. Texture and print were also an important element with Gucci continuing the fringing trend and Marni delivering bold stripes. Versace’s models wore a collage of head-to-colour with tassels highlighting the paint strokes. Loved for its playful collections, Moschino looked to the 1950s for inspiration and produced a collection embellished with numerous pop art faces depicting an array of emotions. Vertical stripes Getty Getty Vertical stripes were the most popular choice of print in Milan. Marni made a bold statement with their navy and red stripped tailored coat, evoking memories of candy canes and liquorice, and the look was finished off with complementing colour-matching accessories. Jil Sander went for a much softer approach with paler colour choices, different width stripes and mix-and-matching pieces. Fringing Getty Getty Carrying on the disco theme previously seen at New York Fashion Week, fringing came in an array of metallic colours in the Italian city. Both Gucci and Blumarine used tinsel-esque fringing to elevate their formal wear prices into party-ready outfits with added extra-length and texture.
