YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Travel This airline is launching a ‘ sleeper seat’ that turns your row into a comfy bed By You Magazine - March 13, 2019 If you can’t afford the luxury of a first class bed when you fly long-haul, the experience usually ends up being more than a little uncomfortable – but thanks to Thomas Cook, taking to the skies for hours at a time could prove to be much more relaxing from now on. The airline has announced the launch of its ‘sleeper seat’ – a ticket which gives you a whole row of seats to yourself, topped with a mattress that’s ideal for spreading out to sleep, read, watch a film or simply unwind with a decent amount of space. Thomas Cook The sleeper seat, which is available for adults and children aged 12 or over, will be available on selected long-haul journeys, and comes complete with a fitted sheet, head rest, pillow, blanket and amenity kit. Henry Sunley, Commercial Director at Thomas Cook Airlines said of the idea: ‘We always look for ways to innovate for our customers and Sleeper Seat is a UK first that we are really proud of. It is a fantastic way to transform your flying experience and enjoy some extra comfort when flying in economy.’ While having your very own row on any flight might seem like a costly venture, prices start from £200 one-way, and there’s no rule saying that you can’t rotate the sleeper seat and split the nap time (and the cost) with the rest of your group. Getty Images ‘While only one person can use Sleeper Seat at a time, you can swap with other people in your group during the flight… but it’s entirely up to you if you want to share!’ Henry added. Once you’re in situ, you’ll experience the same perks you would on any Thomas Cook flight, including in-flight entertainment and meals from a menu devised by none other than James Martin (although these won’t be served if you’re lying down, so you can’t spend the entire flight in a horizontal position). Tempted? You can book your flight in a sleeper seat now at thomascookairlines.com for selected long-haul flights from 13 May 2019.
