YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life The 50 best companies to work for in the UK By You Magazine - January 12, 2022 The pandemic has resulted in a lot of people changing jobs, whether that’s because they lost theirs during lockdown, wanted more stability or perhaps they took the opportunity to pursue the career they’ve always wanted. Job website Glassdoor, where users can review companies, has shared the results of its Employees’ Choice Awards, revealing the current 50 best companies to work for. The annual ranking is based on anonymous feedback from employees via a Glassdoor review about their job, work environment and boss over the past year. In the survey, each workplace is ranked one to five – with five being the best. Getty Images Last year, American software company Salesforce came out on top. It was followed by Microsoft and Abcam – a producer, distributor and seller of protein research tools. However, for 2022, there’s been a switch up in the leading companies. Software company ServiceNow has taken the top spot this year, with an average rating of 4.6. But what makes it so great? One sales director at the business said: ‘Diversity, excellent product, supports customers well, puts customers at the very heart of everything we do. Supports its people, enables brilliance, fantastic leadership.’ That might be why! Another year full of ups, downs, twists and turns. ???? The list suggests tech companies are most successful when it comes to employee satisfaction, as they take up 19 places in the top 50. Consulting is another popular area, as well as manufacturing, and travel and tourism. Some of the nation’s favourite food companies also appeared in the list, including Dishoom, Nando’s and Mars. As we know, the pandemic has shifted what we need and want from our jobs. A good work-life balance, including flexible hours and working from home, has become even more important. Other winning factors shown in the research were good working culture, transparent leadership, opportunities for training, and challenging/exciting work. Getty Images Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor’s chief executive officer, said: ‘The world of work is rapidly evolving, fuelled by the pandemic and now millions of workers reevaluating their expectations of employers. ‘This year’s Best Places to Work winners are leading the way by listening and responding to employee feedback and reimagining the employee experience to truly put their people first.’ Here’s the full list of Glassdoor’s best companies to work for.
