YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors IKEA is launching its first ever wearable quilt in time for outdoor socialising By You Magazine - March 25, 2021 Spring has officially sprung, bringing blossom, longer days and – best of all – an easing of lockdown restrictions. Hopefully, from 29 March we will be able to socialise with up to six people outdoors, including our own gardens. But while the weather isn’t quite where we want it yet, IKEA is launching a genius new product to make outdoor socialising that bit better. Brands might be low in stock and selling out of garden furniture quickly, but now it’s all about the game-changing wearable quilt from IKEA. The FÄLTMAL ‘quillow’ is a full-sized quilt that evolves from a normal-looking cushion. Once unravelled, it has been made long enough to wrap around your entire body and it has two sleeves, a bit like those indoor blankets. However, unlike indoor blanket versions, the IKEA wearable quilt fastens with a button at the back to keep that all-important heat locked in when sitting outdoors. The fastening is also designed to stop it from dropping off your shoulders when you reach for your drink, too. Ikea The ‘quillow’ is ideal for taking with you on a staycation, to someone else’s garden, or even the park. When you’re done with it as a blanket, it folds down into a compact pillow. Ta-da, you’ve now got a comfy cushion to rest on. Ikea Believe it or not, it gets even better. There’s a fishnet pocket on the side to store things like books, travel documents or a bottle opener. The ‘quillow’ is also a more sustainable choice to keep warm during colder weather, as the quilt and cushion combo is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester. So where can you find it? Customers will be able to get their hands on IKEA’s FÄLTMAL ‘quillow’ from April, for a decent price of £25. The innovative quilt arrives just in time for our outdoor gatherings during spring, and we can’t wait. Here’s to an alfresco April!
