While there’s no concrete news as yet, it sounds like a new Desperate Housewives reboot might be on the cards – and we are so here for it. The TV network behind the show, ABC, tweeted a photo of the Desperate Housewives cast, alongside a caption saying they were ‘”desperately” waiting for 2022’. *Desperately* waiting for 2022. pic.twitter.com/Io6cN99giO - Desperate Housewives (@DesperateABC) December 31, 2021 Seems pretty promising, right? The show, which first began in 2004, originally ran for eight seasons. Set in Wisteria Lane, it followed the lives of a group of American housewives, whose seemingly-perfect existence took a dark turn when a close friend mysteriously took her own life. One of the stars of Desperate Housewives was Eva Longoria, who played Gaby – she previously told the Radio Times she’d been keen for a revival, saying, ‘I mean, we ended the series with [Gaby] going off to start her own business. So I’d love to pick up and see how she’s grown that business.’ Rex The creator of the show, Marc Cherry, has also chatted about a Desperate Housewives reboot in the past. ‘If I was to do a reboot of it, I would have to come up with a brand-new idea of what fuelled it’ he told EW. ‘I know the formula, and it certainly would be great to try with more time and money.’ Fans of the award-winning show were definitely excited to hear news of the potential reboot, with one commenting on Twitter, ‘If this gets a reboot I’ll never complain about anything EVER AGAIN.’ Others compared it to the new Sex and the City reboot, commenting ‘If we can have #AndJustLikeThat we can have a reboot of our fav housewives.’ It’s not too much to ask, is it?
