After all, with all the money, designers, make-up artists, caterers and entertainers in the world at your disposal, how could it not be as perfect? Well, it turns out even the most rich and powerful of all can have something go wrong on their wedding day – even Queen Elizabeth II herself. Getty Images Believe it or not, Her Majesty actually had a fashion emergency on her wedding day. Royal fans will know that the Queen, who recently celebrated her 72nd wedding anniversary with Prince Phillip, wore a beautiful dress by Sir Norman Hartnell which was inspired by Botticelli’s famous Primavera painting. The stunning design featured a 15-foot silk tulle full court train, crystals and transparent applique tulle embroidery. But most impressive of all, it was created in just three months which is a quick turnaround even by royal standards. However, not all went to plan on the day of the I dos. Marie Claire reports that according to the Palace, the Queen had a glitch with her jewellery. The diamond fringe tiara she wore, which was lent to her, accidentally broke as it was being placed on her head. Or at least the gem inside the frame of it did. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) As you can expect, it caused a lot of anxiety in the moment, but fortunately it was quickly repaired and not a soul noticed as she walked down the aisle. Her Majesty got married to husband Prince Phillip at Westminster Abbey on 20 November, 1947, just four months after their engagement was announced to the world. Last month, the couple were inundated with lovely messages from not only their family but the public as they celebrated their 72nd milestone. ‘Wishing Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh a very happy 72nd Wedding Anniversary!’ the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote on Twitter, while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also congratulated them on Instagram.
