From beauty buys to kitchenware, the budget supermarket has become notorious for ‘seeking inspiration’ from popular products and designing their own take on the look – and its latest launch has ventured into the world of electronics, bearing a striking similarity to the famous Roberts radios. Aldi Aldi has released its very own version of the vintage-inspired radios, and we’ll be the first to admit that they look pretty good. In fact, we can totally see them in our living room. Named the DAB & FM Radio, the dupes are sold for £29.99 each and come in a variety of pastel colours including blue, green and beige. Each radio features an LCD display, earphone jack, radio and buzz alarm with snooze control, auto time synchronisation, 20-pre set stations (10 DAB and 10 FM) and a Bluetooth V 4.1 range up to approximately 10m. And as they will officially be on sale this Valentine’s Day (14 February), you could even buy one as a gift for your music-loving other half. However, a word to the wise: the product is part of Aldi’s limited-edition ‘Special Buys’ section, which means it is highly likely that it will be snapped up in no time, so you might want to either pre-order it or move fast once its finally up for grabs. Aldi DAB & FM Radio, £29.99, Aldi Aldi’s Roberts-style radio comes after the German supermarket chain released a series of successful dupes, including its own imagining of two famous Chanel fragrances – Chanel’s beloved Coco Mademoiselle and Chanel No5, its £3.99 take on Pixi’s iconic Glow Tonic, a KitchenAid-esque mixer and most famous of all, its very own Jo Malone-inspired candles. The luxury candles were so in demand that they sold out immediately and eventually became part of the permanent range. We’re still crossing our fingers for repeat performances on other lines!
