YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity Bruno Tonioli confirms he’ s not returning to Strictly Come Dancing – and his replacement is confirmed By Kanika Banwait - May 20, 2022 There are certain TV shows we look forward to every time they return to screens, and it’s safe to say, Strictly Come Dancing is one of the nation’s favourites. After a truly memorable series last year, which saw Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice lift the glitterball trophy and go on to win a BAFTA for one of their performances, we can’t wait for the show to roll around again. Although this year, it’s going look a little bit different. We already know professional dancers Oti Mabuse and Aljaz Skorjanec will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing, but now former judge Bruno Tonioli has also confirmed he won’t be back. Bruno was a judge on the show for 18 years, but hasn’t been able to take part for the past two years due to the pandemic. Getty Images The Italian choreographer decided to quit Strictly so he can focus on continuing his role as a judge on the US version of the dancing competition, Dancing With The Stars, according to Mail online. Last year, Bruno was replaced by former professional dancer on the show, Anton Du Beke. The Strictly team have now announced that Anton’s place on the panel will be made permanent. I haven’t been told,’ he said. ‘They literally haven’t spoken to me about it. So, whatever you’ve read, it is just a rumour. BBC Pictures ‘I’m hoping to get a call to say: “Look, here you go, come back judging please,” but we’ll wait and see. I would like to think I’d be on the show in one way or another. I wouldn’t like to think they would just get rid of me altogether.’ Well, it looks like Anton’s dream has come true – although of course, we’ll definitely miss Bruno and his OTT reactions!
