Alamy Stock Photos READ MORE: What to watch on Netflix this May That’s right, the dystopian TV series from the mind of Charlie Brooker is back with another instalment in the works and apparently, Black Mirror season 6 going to be even more cinematic in scope, with each instalment being treated as an individual film, a source close to the production told Variety. With the whole world having essentially just lived through what felt like a two-year real life Black Mirror episode, we were glad for the distance we had from the ‘techno-paranoia’ anthology series. Netflix Even the show’s creator Charlie Brooker doubted what the future held for Black Mirror a couple years ago, when he spoke to Radio Times in May 2020, aka the height of the pandemic, saying that, ‘At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.’ When probed on whether another season of Black Mirror could be expected, he replied, ‘I’ve been busy, doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing,’ indicating that he was definitely leaving the door open for future series. Charlie Brooker. Image: Netflix With each episode essentially promising to be a mini-film in itself, we can’t help but feel excited for the return of the head-spinning series, especially after the cast of season 5 included the likes of Andrew Scott, Miley Cyrus and Anthony Mackie. That last season did only consist of 3 episodes, however, so we’re hoping this latest season will deliver a few more hours of entertainment. There are no details released yet that reveal when Black Mirror season 6 will land on Netflix or indeed any of the storylines or cast, but we will keep you updated when we know more.
