H&M The edit is a first for Desmond & Dempsey, whose signature hand-painted prints revolve around luxury pyjamas and sleepwear, but have now been added to laidback dresses, kaftans and matching shirt and shorts sets that will help you float through summer in style. H&M ‘We are thrilled to be launching our collaboration with H&M. It is our first time venturing outside the bedroom, so we are excited to see our prints “in the wild”,’ says Molly Goddard, co-founder and Creative Director of Desmond & Dempsey. H&M ‘We have loved working with the H&M team and have been blown away how intimate and collaborative the whole process was. We can’t wait to bring our world of languid luxury to H&M and D&D customers around the world. We hope it brings colour, joy and a sense of ease for everyone right now.’ H&M The designs are inspired by the founders Molly and Joel’s birthplace of Australia, with laid-back palm and botanical prints in an array of wearable colours like pastel pinks and oranges, deep azure blues and forest green. H&M ‘Our prints start with an adventure,’ Molly adds. ‘It doesn’t always have to be far, but a visit to somewhere that has triggered our imagination. I have scrapbooks full of notes and stories. They are the starting points of our prints. From there our team somehow—I think with magic—turns them into artworks which they paint, draw, screen print or sometimes even carve, and eventually that process becomes a print.’ H&M It’s a range that’s very evidently designed for the warmer weather, so you can expect easy throw-on silhouettes and lightweight natural fabrics like fluid linen, cotton voile and viscose: think designs you’d roll up and stash in your suitcase if you were headed to the beach.
