YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity You can do Lorraine Kelly’ s favourite workout class at home during lockdown By You Magazine - November 5, 2020 Lockdown 2.0 has officially begun, and while exercising outdoors is still allowed, it’s a far less appealing prospect in chilly November than it was throughtout the summer. So if you’re looking for a great indoor workout to keep your fitness levels up until gyms hopefully reopen in December, Lorraine Kelly has got exactly what you need. Rex Features Lorraine has been attending ‘Maxicise’ classes with trainer and friend Maxine Jones for several years, and says discovering her workouts ‘changed my life for the better.’ ‘I feel better physically and mentally, I have more energy and a lot more confidence,’ Lorraine said previously of Maxine’s methods. ‘I love the camaraderie of all the classes, the sheer joy and positive energy created.’ Maxine describes Maxicise classes as ‘a calorie burning party at your fingertips – the pounds will be falling off of you and you won’t even know you’re exercising!’ The workouts are dance-based and set to great, upbeat playlists that will lift your mood and have you shimmying around your living room in no time. There’s no denying you’ll have to put the effort in on the cardio side of things – Lorraine has shared plenty of sweaty selfies post-Maxercise in the past, but always with a massive smile on her face too! If you want to experience the benefits for yourself, the good news is that free Maxicise classes are available online via YouTube, and through Maxine’s Instagram page, where sessions will be livestreamed throughout lockdown. There’s also a subscription with extra content available through Maxine’s website, which costs just £4 per week. Maxine is also keen to stress that the mental benefits of her programme are just as important as the physical: ‘This isn’t just about being the perfect 10,’ she notes on her website. ‘All too often, we ignore the benefits of exercise. ‘When we dance, especially with others, pheromones are realised, the body’s natural high. We are going to dance ourselves happy!’ Sign us up, Maxine!
