The tides are turning though – there’s a heatwave approaching and Lidl has released a new range of botanical gins just in time to help us make the most of it. To celebrate Hortus Gin Festival, Lidl is launching the delicate and floral Hortus World Botanicals gin collection. In total, there are 10 expertly crafted gins that shoppers will be able to find on shelves. Flavours include a Hortus Old Tom Gin with citrus, coriander and juniper notes. There’s also a Scottish Raspberry Gin Liqueur and Pink Grapefruit & Elderflower Gin Liqueur, costing £8.99 each. These are some of the other stars in the new range… The Lidl botanicals gin range Japanese Cherry Blossom gin, £17.99, Lidl This has delicate hints of sancho peppers and cherry blossom, which were locally sourced in Japan. It’s a citrus-led gin with a rich, floral character. Lidl suggests serving the cherry blossom gin with a classic tonic and ginger slice. American Orange Gin, £17.99, Lidl This zesty American Orange gin is juniper-led with a mildly spicy, floral finish. It combines notes of coriander, angelica, lemon, and fresh grapefruit with local Florida orange botanicals. Mediterranean Citrus Gin, £17.99, Lidl You might be opting for a staycation this year rather than travelling abroad, but this gin will have you feeling like you’re in the Med. It’s got a punchy, citrus kick and herbal finish. The lemon and grapefruit botanicals have been sourced directly from the Mediterranean, too. It also bears a striking resemblance to the Malfy Limone gin, but comes in at a cheaper price point, costing £10 less. Malfy Limone Gin, £28, Waitrose For the first time, Lidl is also introducing 10 x 250ml multipacks of gin tinnys, which are perfect for refreshments on the go or picnics. They’re available in three flavours: Rhubarb & Ginger Gin & Tonic, Premium Orange & Gin & Diet Lemonade, and the classic Pink Gin & Tonic. Customers can pick these 10-packs up for only £9.99 – that’s under £1 per can. The delicious botanicals gin range can be found in Lidl stores nationwide from 15 July. Happy drinking!
