YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity This is why everyone thinks Meghan writes the Sussex Royal Instagram captions By You Magazine - December 3, 2019 Ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their very own official Instagram page on the 2 April 2019, the world has been speculating over who exactly runs the account titled Sussex Royal. Getty Images Usually, it is a member of staff from the royal communications team that tends to handle official social media accounts linked to the royal family. But now fans of the family say they have good reason to believe that this isn’t the case for Sussex Royal and that actually, the page is run by Meghan Markle herself – or at least the captions are written by her. This is because, as followers of the account will have noticed, many of the terms used in the copy of the posts shared on the page consist of American terminology. For instance, one of the latest posts from the account this week detailed the couple’s latest charity initiative inspired by ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ in which they announced that they would be supporting 12 handpicked charities. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) In the caption, the festive period was described as ‘the holidays’ which is an American term. So naturally, fans have taken this as evidence that it is indeed Meghan on the other side, typing away. The post read: ‘With the festive holiday season upon us, it’s also a reminder to reflect on those in need – those who may feel lonely, hungry, homeless, or may be experiencing the holidays for the first time without loved ones.’ Getty Images So could it be true? Well, it isn’t the first time this has happened. When starting out, eagle-eyed fans noticed that many words in the captions from the account used American spelling, using words like ‘organization’ instead of ‘organisation’ and ‘re-energized’ instead of ‘re-energised’ as reported by People. The account is also known for using emojis, which is usually unheard of in other royal accounts meaning it has a slightly more friendly vibe leading even more people to believe it is Meghan’s work.
