YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food Marks & Spencer is selling gin and tonic sauce for Pancake Day By You Magazine - January 30, 2019 As we enter the month of February, one of the best days of the year is fast approaching. We still have a little while to go, but we’re obviously talking about the delicious celebration that is Pancake Day. This year, the pancake eating festivities will take place on 5 March but to kick things off early, Marks & Spencer has launched an exciting new sauce that we’ll definitely be smearing all over our pancakes – flavoured with lemon, gin and tonic. Getty Images That’s right, forget the traditional sugar and lemon toppings, boozy pancakes are officially going to be a thing and we’re on board with it. The new sauce has been described as being both ‘tart and tangy with a punch’ while emulating the ‘classic flavours’ of a G&T. And to answer your burning question, yes, it includes actual alcohol. However, you shouldn’t expect to get tipsy off your pancakes because the sauce, which is made using a juniper-based spirit as well as Indian tonic water, only features 0.5% ABV. But hey, you can always have a beverage on the side if that’s what you wish. The lemon, gin and tonic sauce is priced at just £2 and has already been sold out on the Marks & Spencer website. Pop in to your local branch and you’ll be able to get your hands on a bottle before they fly off the shelves too. Marks and Spencer have also launched a new Scottish Heather Honey sauce with Single Malt Whiskey, so if the darker spirits are more up your street then you’re in luck too. Either way, you’ll still got a good few weeks to decide on your pancake toppings. Choose wisely!
