YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Beauty Beauty products that transform into chic homeware pieces By You Magazine - October 25, 2021 When it comes to sustainable beauty, we love anything that can be recycled or reused, but this usually just involves popping your skincare and cosmetic containers in the recycling bag rather than the bin. That’s all about to change thanks to Oquist Cosmetics‘ products. The sustainable brand has achieved an impressive feat: creating beauty products whose packaging is so beautiful that, after you’ve finished using the products inside, it can then be used as chic interiors pieces around the home. Founded by father and daughter pairing, Olga and Pavel Babneev, Oquist Cosmetics goes that extra bit further than brands who claim to be eco-friendly with their use of organic ingredients or sustainable and recyclable packaging. Oquist Cosmetics makes a range of skincare that is contained within gorgeous terracotta pots which can be reused as vases, jars, pots or just stunning works of art about the house. ‘We decided on terracotta as packaging material because of its low carbon footprint, absence of toxins and ucyclability, but most importantly – it’s potential for creating beauty,’ the brand wrote on Instagram. ‘We could’ve just created a couple of simple jars that would’ve done the job of storing cosmetics quite well, but would that be art? Would that be beauty?’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by OQUIST • ART-SKIN-PLANET (@oquist_cosmetics) The Swedish brand has been featured in the likes of Vogue, Get The Gloss and Country & Town House. As you’d expect the products are environmentally friendly, contain 0% preservatives, are multi-functional (so fewer products are needed), anti-inflammatory and have a waterless formula. All great green credentials! Prices aren’t cheap though and start at £67 for the 6-in-1 Anti-Aging Serum. That said, this is the only product you’ll ever need: it that acts as a night cream, day face cream, neck & décolletage serum, make-up remover, eye serum and even an after shave.
