The presenter shared the news on her Instagram page, urging others to seek help quickly if they noticed any similar symptoms. ITV “For a while now I’ve been struggling with digestion” explained Adele in the post. Despite being “embarrassed” she sought help from her GP. “After a few phone calls I was sent for some examinations and checks. I was then diagnosed with bowel cancer” she said. Adele is having surgery to remove the tumour, and will then find out if any follow-up treatment is needed. “So far the outlook is positive and I feel so lucky I can be treated. It’s just the start of my journey but I’m going to give it everything,” she said. The DJ said she was sharing the news to “reach anyone who might benefit from seeing it or reading it” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adele Roberts (@adeleroberts) She wrote: “It’s all happened so quickly and I’m so sorry to post something like this on here but I hope it helps anyone who might be worrying, or suffering in silence. PLEASE get checked if you have any concerns The sooner you’re able to see your GP or talk to someone the sooner you can get help. If I hadn’t I might not be so lucky. “As I’ve learned over the last few weeks, there’s no ‘normal’ with cancer. Sadly it can affect anyone, at any age, anytime. It doesn’t discriminate. Early detection can save your life.” As well as praising the NHS for the treatment she’s receiving, Adele shared an image highlighting the cancer symptoms to look out for. These include: Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit Unexplained weight loss Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason A pain or lump in your tummy We applaud Adele for opening up to spread this important message, and wish her a speedy recovery.
