YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity The creators of Love Island are working on a new dating show for ITV By You Magazine - June 25, 2019 If you’re a sucker for dating shows, Love Island in particular, then we’ve got some great news for you. You may already be dreading the inevitable Love Island-shaped hole that will emerge in your viewing schedule when this summer’s series draws to an end – but what if we told you ITV are working on yet another show about young singles navigating the ups and downs of love? Because that’s the reality – hooray! Rex Features The broadcaster has announced that the makers of Love Island are currently working on a new ITV dating show called Singletown that promises to make the absence of Love Island a lot more bearable. Singletown will swap villa life for swanky city apartments in the heart of London and will focus on couples on a ‘break’ as they test the strength of their struggling relationships. As stated in the official show announcement: ‘Each couple will have a different reason for putting their relationships on ice – from school sweethearts who’ve never dated other people properly, newer relationships that have hit the rocks, or maybe two people who just want a summer of self-discovery before they settle down. ‘The cameras will be there to capture the story of their summer of fun – living in luxury apartments in London these new singletons will go on dates with hand-picked suitors at the hottest venues in town, get to experience out of this world parties and unforgettable moments – it’s going to be their best single life.’ Rex Features Just like the Islanders, the temporary singletons will go on a serious of exciting dates in the city while mingling with others, before ultimately deciding at the end of the summer whether they want to continue to be single and part ways with their partner for good, or stay together. Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels at ITV said: ‘Hot on the heels of Love Island, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Keshet on this unique series. Singletown is a fun relationship show featuring a diverse mix of young couples from all over the UK brought together in the most aspirational urban setting – London in the summer. ITV2’s young audience will hopefully be hooked on the dating dilemmas, twists and turns and the fresh and re-kindled romances that emerge from this exciting new format.’ If it’s anything like Love Island (which the sounds of this, it will be), we’ll certainly be tuning in.
