Here are my favourite five. Lipstick Queen Lipstick in Old Flame (£22, spacenk.com). One of those sleight-of-hand lippies: it’s bright orange in colour but actually works with the pH of your lips to transform into more of a peach (though, truth be told, I have quite naturally pigmented lips so mine turned more of a deep berry). But all it takes is a whisper to get results. Daniel Sandler Watercolour Liquid Cheek Colour (£16.50, danielsandler.com). Not a new launch, but some new shades have been added – including my favourite, the light-peach Caress – to give 21 options. And the texture has been updated to make it even more silky. I wouldn’t claim that blushers ever feel heavy, but this is air-light and gives a long-lasting and flattering flush to cheeks. The Manta Hairbrush (£25, mantahair.com). A relatively new launch, this brush is unlike any I’ve used before. It looks a bit like a manta ray – in lightweight silicone form and with a side of bristles, that is. The handle slides between the fingers to give good grip, and its flexibility and long teeth mean that it glides through the hair and detangles easily for minimum breakage, giving the scalp a gorgeous massage that makes me feel a bit like a cat in scratching heaven. I haven’t quite done the upward eye-roll into the head yet when using it, but I’m not far off… Serge Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier (£110 for 100ml eau de parfum, libertylondon.com). Indulgent price-wise but it’s utterly charming – light yet sophisticated, citrus yet floral, and it speaks of warmth and joy and high hopes. Key notes of lemon tree flowers, jasmine and musk. Swellegant stuff. Boots No7 Match Made Custom Blend Foundation Drops (£16, boots.com). Truly one of my favourite ‘foundation’ options, this has been in my retinue since it launched. And no matter who I give it to for testing, they always report back that it’s brilliant. It works simply: add a drop (or two or three depending on the amount of coverage you’re after) to your moisturiser or serum, blend them together then apply for a very natural, glowing finish. You can choose from 25 shades and a bottle lasts for quite a while. A true make-up star.
