YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Fashion Small Brand Spotlight TBalance Crystals By You Magazine - October 20, 2021 Every week, we shine a spotlight on the best small brands we think are worth shouting about. We love our great British high street, but there are so many fantastic independent brands out there making clothes, accessories, homeware and more from a place of passion and love and we need to support them – now more than ever. From fashion and beauty to homeware, accessories and food, we bring you the best small businesses you need on your radar. This week, we chat with Tori Boughey, founder of TBalance Crystals, the crystal jewellery brand. TBalance Crystals What is TBalance Crystals and how did it come to life? I’m primarily a holistic health and life coach but I started TBalance Crystals back in 2019. I’ve always been fascinated by crystals and their kaleidoscope of different healing powers but it was when I started gifting them to my coaching clients that I truly saw the power they could have on people. TBalance Crystals makes handmade crystal jewellery with the power of self love lying at the heart of our brand. Our crystal pieces are strung with crystals and lettered beads that spell out positive affirmations; a constant reminder to support a journey towards achieving happiness and balance. I’m so passionate about educating people about these incredible stones – with their abundant healing powers, our crystal bracelets have the ability to amplify what we might be missing in our daily lives. They can keep us inspired, soothe our anxieties or energise us. There is a crystal for everyone and every emotion – they are an incredible resource. Who is the TBalance Crystals customer? Anyone and everyone. When the business began gaining popularity, our customers were buying bracelets like flowers – they make the perfect gift. People buy our pieces to congratulate a new mum, send love to someone who is bereaved, bring a sense of calm to someone with anxiety or promote creativity for someone switching jobs. All the crystals have different healing properties and meanings so it is so much fun to gift a bracelet to your loved ones. Our bespoke pieces are super popular too, so we often make bracelets for men and children – everyone needs crystals in their lives, there isn’t a typical TBalance Crystals customer. I’m always inspired by what is happening around me, whether it’s my daily life, what’s going on with my friends and family or on more of a wide reaching global scale – I think about what people need to draw into their lives and the pieces come to life from there. All the bracelets have different affirmations on them that correlate to the healing properties of the crystals. For example we put ‘Energy’ on Clear Quartz as it is the most powerful crystal for energising the mind and body and amplifies the healing properties of other crystals. Crystals are truly magic – you’ll be attracted to the ones you need in your life. For that reason my process of designing is very intuitive, I’ll find myself drawn to a crystal, do my research and then decide what affirmation will accompany it. Every day is totally different at TBalance Crystals, but one thing that is always consistent is moving my body before the day gets started. I always make time to go for a walk or do a pilates class – I find it essential to clear my head before the start of the working day. Our team is very tight knit – we make sure to have a quick check in first thing every morning to set our intentions and make sure everyone is aligned with each other. I might spend the morning designing our next collection, brainstorming creative ideas for our next shoot, researching new crystals, or packing for our next drop online – heading up a small team means I get involved with all parts of the business – from glam to not so glam! It’s so important to me though to keep me grounded and remind me where we started. A few times a week I’ll check out of the office early for a client appointment [the other side of the TBalance brand]. Since TBalance Crystals grew so much in 2020 I’ve had less time to dedicate to onboarding new clients, so my strategy at the moment is to have a handful and dedicate enough time and focus to really help them achieve their goals. I have to say, this truly is the highlight of my week – my clients mean the world to me and I love catching up with them weekly to support in any anxieties they’re having whilst also celebrating their successes. There are so many ‘best’ things about running my own business but for me, having total clarity with the brand vision is something I am so appreciative of. I love that I’m in charge of what I’m putting out into the universe, and I have a wonderful staff team that supports that vision. The biggest challenge is definitely time. There is simply never enough of it! Even though my lifestyle is all about balance, I have to admit that I do find it hard to switch off – there’s just always something to be thinking about. The best TBalance Crystals moment so far? For me it has to be the day we launched on Net-A-Porter – that was a true ‘pinch me’ moment! Our Shine Citrine Necklace – it’s perfect to wear as we come into the colder months to keep me energised and glowing. Citrine carries the energy of sunshine so it’s a great one to wear this autumn/winter. Anything exciting in the pipeline? On 22 November you’ll find us in Selfridges which is a dream come true. We will be running a pop-up shop for six weeks in the lead up to Christmas with a bespoke jewellery maker on-site to bring your own creations to life while you wait. We are so excited – it’s going to be a crystal cave of wonders! We are also so thrilled to have recently launched our partnership with Choose Love, a charity that is doing incredible work to provide support to refugees and displaced people. When you buy a Choose Love x TBalance Crystals bracelet, 100 per cent of the profits will go to Afghan refugees and internally displaced people to support with food and medical supplies as well as funding desperately needed legal support to get the most vulnerable people to safety, trauma-informed care for people who have endured so much and have had to flee their homes and everything they know to find safety and vital assistance as they begin to rebuild their lives in a new place.
