When many of us look for lovely places to visit, we are often after somewhere quiet, somewhere tranquil and somewhere we can escape the usual busyness and stress of our day to day lives. Luckily, furniture brand Arlo and Jacob have come up with a list of the most peaceful villages in the UK, making deciding on our next staycation destination that little bit easier. They analysed the towns and villages across the UK, taking into account their population, remoteness and how often they’re referenced as ‘beautiful’ online. Arlo and Jacob came up with a top 20 list, all of which would be perfect for the introverts among us who just want a low-key holiday where we won’t be bothered and can be at peace for a few days. The tiny village scored 85.5 (out of 100), and was praised by the brand for its beauty. ‘Plockton is a small village, labelled “The Jewel of the Highlands” that sits on a sheltered bay in Scotland with breathtaking views overlooking Loch Carron,’ they wrote. Next up was Castle Combe in Wiltshire, England, with a score of 77. Arlo and Jacob referenced the village’s idyllic views, and the fact it is often referred to as the prettiest village in the country. Castle Combe. The small fishing village does not allow vehicles on its cobbled streets, meaning pollution is low and walks are quiet. Clovelly.
