Never will be able to watch that ever again." by Benjamin DzialdowskiBuzzFeed StaffFacebookPinterestTwitterMailLink We ve all been there when we ve finished a movie and for one reason or another thought Damn that was so good but I can never watch that again Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF Warner Bros. Pictures So we asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us the movies they refuse to rewatch and I m ngl some of them I fully agree with 1 Titanic Paramount Pictures / 20th Century Fox "I recently watched it with my sister, and by the end, she was bawling hysterically and I was screaming 'NEVER LET GO! NEVER LET GO ROSE!' and now I feel like never watching it again even though it is SO. GOOD." —25jmb01 2 Inglorious Basterds Universal Pictures "I thought it was an amazing rollercoaster of a film with perfect acting and character curves to send you spinning. However, I just felt it was so intense that I was emotionally drained after watching it. I've considered replaying it but I feel figuratively out-of-breath at the thought of putting myself through it again!" —noodle81 3 Dunkirk Warner. Bros Pictures "I almost left the cinema halfway through because I couldn't take the suspense. The sound effects, the different storylines – I felt on the verge of a panic attack the entire time. It's a great movie, and the cast is amazing, but not even Tom Hardy can go through this again." —kittyarcadia 4 The Impossible Warner Bros. "It's an amazing movie and well worth watching, especially since the woman it's based on played a major role in making the film, but I cannot watch it again. The injuries were too much and I couldn't even look during that vomit scene...." —hummingbirdbubble03 "Fantastic movie, with great acting, but the stress of watching it was too intense. It felt like the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan but the whole time and with small children." —kristeno458cd5f4f 5 Twelve Monkeys Universal Pictures "I even bought the DVD because it was such a good film... but, no, too depressing. I haven't the heart to put myself through it." —paulh55 6 The Revenant 20th Century Fox "I saw it in the theatre when it came out and was blown away. I thought the movie was absolutely fantastic, Leo and Tom did a great job, it was enthralling, moving, and intense… I loved it so much that I immediately bought and devoured the novel after watching That being said, I will NEVER watch it again. The gore, violence, and traumatic survival conditions were way too much for me to ever want to vicariously endure again. I loved it, and one viewing is all I needed." —hannah27 7 Encanto Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures "I love the movie and the songs but the way they treated Mirabel didn't sit right with me. Never will be able to watch that ever again." —livingmybestlife0513 8 Lion Transmission Films "The acting by everyone was so good but it’s way too sad. Saroo’s biological mum’s reaction at the end had me sobbing. I’m so glad I saw it but I cannot watch it again." —eatmyloafersdebbie 9 Excision Anchor Bay FIlms "It’s gritty and grisly, but really well done. The acting is fantastic, as are the visuals, but it wavers between generally unsettling to fully disturbing up to the unforgettable ending. I’m glad I’ve seen it, but I doubt I’ll watch it again." —am301394wne 10 Precious Lionsgate "Phenomenal film. Outstanding performances. The most tragic, gut-wrenching plot. When I say I cried… I left a part of me in that theatre. Glad I experienced it but NEVER again." —amyc418b209b3 11 Pan s Labyrinth Warner Bros. Pictures "It is unquestionably one the greatest fantasy films ever made. But it is absolutely not for everyone and definitely not for children. It cut me to the core emotionally and I really don't think I could rewatch it ever." —yuandre 12 Man on Wire Magnolia Pictures "It was utterly mesmerising. However, I tried to watch it a second time and quickly found it just didn’t have the same effect the second time around." —lornajw 13 A Star is Born Warner Bros. Pictures "I loved it so much but it was SO SAD, it absolutely wrecked me. I was in the theatre for ten minutes straight after the credits were rolling just sobbing violently. Loved every minute of it though." —maggpie87 14 Se7en New Line Cinema "I really enjoyed it and I tend to love that kinda genre but some of the murders were just too graphic for me to stomach watching a second time." —shaunaaaaa 15 Silent Running Universal Pictures "It's so good but it just gets more devastating the more it goes on. Lowell's tortured emotional conflicts and downward spiral is devastating to watch, and then the image of Dewey, the little drone, all on his own. I just CAN'T." —katlinel 16 Hereditary A24 "AMAZING film and the acting was brilliant but it honestly shook me up. Not many horror films can do that." —islarhiannon "It's good, but as someone with food allergies and asthma, it is SO hard to watch. It's a good movie though, just disturbing AF." —sonderpotato44" 17 About Time Universal Pictures "It is such a funny, quirky and brilliant movie, I loved it but it’s legitimately one of the saddest films I’ve ever watched. When he goes back in time just once more to be with his dad I could not stop crying. So as much as I loved it, I don’t know if I can watch it again." —jenniferh4e24263bc 18 Contagion Warner Bros. Pictures "We had to watch it in health class during my freshman year of high school, and it deeply disturbed me. I was shaking afterward. And now we’ve actually been LIVING it since 2020. It was really well-made, but I won’t ever be able to watch it again." —actingkalokairi 19 Trainspotting PolyGram Filmed Entertainment "That scene with the baby will stay with me forever. I don't need to rewatch it ever again." —yesmintyes 20 Midsommar A24 "I watched it once, thinking that they escaped based on things I read about it, but my god that was not what I was expecting at all. It wasn't scary, but it had a feeling about it that I can't describe. I almost watched it with my younger sister who's 12, thinking it would be okay for her. Thank goodness I didn't!" —erudderham55 21 Captain Philips Sony Pictures Releasing "Really good movie with a powerful Tom Hanks performance but the ending is just too sad." —cobrakaier30 22 Promising Young Woman Universal Pictures "I was completely into it and loved it. However, that ending haunts me and I'm not able to watch that scene again." —c48a4d893e 23 The Good Dinosaur Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures "I can't even fully recall what happened in it, but I remember my then boyfriend and me sobbing like absolute babies. We used to watch and rewatch a lot of Disney Pixar movies, but we swore never to watch TGD again!" —liz140626 24 Don t Look Up Netflix "I spent the first 18 months of the pandemic working in respiratory care and the way people brushed off the scientists was just a bit too close to home for me. I know it's meant to be an allegory for climate change, but it felt very relevant to me too." —gemface 25 The Wrestler Fox Searchlight Pictures "I’m married to a now retired hardcore wrestler and I watched this with him when he was still doing a few shows every month when we first started seeing each other. I didn’t want to see him end up like that…thankfully he bowed out before got to that point." —bee1 26 American History X New Line Cinema "I saw it in the theatre and bought the DVD as soon as it came out, but all these years later, I cannot bring myself to watch it again. I think it’s a very important movie, but it is difficult to watch." —joed4377f2d63 27 Million Dollar Baby Warner Bros. Pictures "You go into it thinking it’s this inspiring underdog story, and then halfway through it does a complete 180 into one of the bleakest, depressing movies you’ve ever seen. I don’t care how many Oscars it won, I can’t put myself through that again." —audreyschockett 28 13 Lives United Artists Releasing "I mean, the story was so amazing but it's stressful to watch especially if you have claustrophobia, you to better not watch it." —katchichlp 29 Gravity Warner Bros. Pictures "The intense claustrophobia and anxiety I felt watching the movie makes me never want to click on it again. It was good don’t get me wrong, the ending felt great but man my palms were sweaty half the time." —ashleyc4a899ee19 30 1917 Universal Pictures "Not only was the single camera motion a bit weird for me, but the ending is just devastating. He goes on that whole journey to deliver a message, his best friend dies, and he has to tell his brother, who's so worn down by his role in the war he barely has a reaction. It's such a depressing film." —zoecatherinegrant 31 Grave of the Fireflies Toho "I saw it once for my own viewing pleasure because I love Studio Ghibli and was subsequently traumatized and vowed to never watch it again. Clearly, the Powers That Be wanted to smite me down because unfortunately, a few years down the road, I had to watch it for a college class and yeah...relived that trauma. Never. Ever. Again." —ravenbard "I recommend all Studio Ghibli films except that one. It's a beautiful film but it rips your heart out and puts it through a mincer repeatedly." —allyfs 32 Come and See Sovexportfilm ‘’It's often described as the scariest film that isn’t a horror film. An anti-war film set in Soviet Russia during WWII that follows a young teen joining the resistance. It is a truly traumatic watch, yet it is so vital that everyone watches it." —lucy798 33 Arrival Paramount Pictures "It was like watching a dream. I can't imagine rewatching it knowing what happens." —hummingbirdbubble03 34 Requiem for a Dream Artisan Entertainment "Great movie, glad I saw it, but cannot watch it again. Far too disturbing. When I think of those actors, Leto and Connolly, I only see them in that movie. The kinda stuff that creeps into my thoughts and I have to shake it out." —nurseynurse Note: Some submissions have been edited for length and/or clarity.
