Recently, Prince William took time to sit down and chat all things Christmas with young cancer patients receiving treatment at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (where he is a patron) for the hospital’s radio show, Radio Marsden. Getty Images Of course, there was a big discussion about Christmas food, and the Duke of Cambridge revealed that he loves to over indulge during the festive period: ‘I do tend to eat a lot over Christmas,’ he admitted. ‘There’s always a tiny little bit of space left in my stomach for a bit of turkey or sausage or a bit of wine.’ Perhaps somewhat controversially, the Duke also divulged that he ‘loves’ Brussels sprouts, after a child called Rupert said that he too liked the little green veggie. ‘I’m very glad you like Brussels sprouts, it’s very important we eat our greens. ‘I like Brussels sprouts with my turkey, roast potatoes, sausages. I’m very surprised you like Brussels sprouts, but you keep eating them because they’re very good for you.’ Getty Images Prince William was keen to stress that for him, the ‘loveliest’ part of the festive season is seeing all his family come together: ‘We’re quite spread out… We get very few moments together. When I see my children meet up with my cousins’ children they all have a wonderful time playing together, it’s very special.’ And what could a Prince possibly want for Christmas? When asked this question by one child, he replied: ‘That’s a wonderful question that I’ve not had much time to think about, because I’ve been thinking about my children and what they want for Christmas. ‘But if I had to choose right now, then I would say I would like my favourite football team, which is Aston Villa, to win their football match on Boxing Day.’ Getty Images We also discovered that William’s favourite Christmas film is Elf, which he watches ‘every Christmas because it still makes me laugh.’ We wonder if he ever watches it with his grandmother, the Queen, as we already know what the Queen’s favourite film to watch at Christmas is. Everyone loves a board game at Christmas and the royals are no exception, with the Duke’s favourites being Monopoly and Risk. When one child asked him if he owns a Lamborghini, William laughed and said: ‘I would love to have a Lamborghini. A big, bright yellow Lamborghini. But unfortunately, I don’t have a Lamborghini, I’m going to have to save up for one of those when I get older.’ And what would the Duke of Cambridge do if he were in charge of Christmas for a day?
