But there’s no rule that says that cosy, relaxed looks can’t also be stylish – as evidenced beautifully by the River Island feather co-ord that’s all over Instagram right now. The two-piece satin set, priced at £38 for the top and £45 for the trousers, is the perfect mix of luxury and laid-back (and that’s before we mention the fact that it bears more than a passing resemblance to the high-end Daily Sleeper feather pyjama sets, which cost around $300). With another month spent almost exclusively at home ahead of us, there’s never been a better time to invest in outfits that make us feel great while we’re hibernating indoors. It would also make a fabulous Christmas Day outfit, whatever the circumstances around the celebrations might be. However, that’s not to say you can’t dress it up for outings when they eventually start happening again – a number of the bloggers who’ve already snapped it up prove that it looks just as good with heels and a blazer as it does with your go-to slippers, making it surprisingly versatile for such a statement piece. Another plus for the more affordable outfit is that it’s a far more size inclusive take on the trend – as it’s also part of the River Island Plus line, you can get both halves in sizes ranging from a 6 to a 28. However, with its soaring popularity and social media hype, stocks are already dwindling in many of those sizes, so if you want to follow in the footsteps of some of Insta’s coolest accounts, we’d suggest you move quickly before it disappears altogether. Frankly, we can’t imagine an outfit more fun and mood-lifting than this, and we’re adding ours to our virtual basket as we speak.
