Yes, we know we haven’t even got past Halloween yet, but admittedly we are thinking about Christmas already. From food to decorations to gifts, there’s a whole list of things that need to be organised and prepped for the season. To give you some inspiration, Etsy has revealed it’s predictions for the must-have Christmas trends for this year… Etsy’ s Christmas 2022 trends Merry and bright You may have seen the dopamine dressing trend already, but it goes beyond clothing and jewellery. Enter: dopamine gifting. Bright, joyful and vibrant colours are expected to be everywhere this festive season. There’s been a 346 per cent increase in searches for disco ball decor, an 86 per cent increase in searches for vibrant wall art, as well as more searches for hot pink fashion items (hello, Barbiecore), and a rise in interest for for colourful wreaths on Etsy, too. So much so that Etsy named emerald green its colour of the year, as well as Dulux also opting for an earthy tone as its colour of 2023. The mood continues to influence home decor with ‘natural, wild and foraged-inspired foliage taking centre stage in this enchanted fantasy-meets-reality forest aesthetic’. Etsy has seen a 118 per cent increase in searches for nature-inspired home decor, but how do you style it for Christmas time? They suggest combining rich tones like emerald green with festive shimmery touches and metallic flecks. Large Emerald green Velvet Table Runners, £27, Etsy Pearlcore The pearlcore trend is one that has reigned supreme this year, thanks to the return of Bridgerton and a love of all things Regency Era. On Etsy, there’s been a 44 per cent increase in searches for pearl shoes, bags and purses. Pearl earrings have also been in high demand, so they’re bound to go down well as a gift this Christmas. Etsy is a great place to find retro items that will add a touch of cosy kitsch to your kitchen.
