Decades of growth in the capital city for example have abruptly ended, and the population of London has dropped for the first time since 1988, over 30 years ago. It’s safe to say that working from home and new perspectives have seen a mass exodus from big cities and increasing relocation into more rural, more affordable areas. Getty Images It therefore may come as no surprise that the Gower Peninsula in Glamorgan, Wales, has been voted the most up-and-coming relocation area in the whole of the UK. Looking at house prices, crime rates and local schools, property portal Boomin determined that it was this Welsh spot that was in fact the most desirable. In fact, there’s been a 20 per cent rise in enquiries of people looking to move there within the past three months. And when you look at what the peninsula has to offer, you likely won’t be shocked. As well as good quality schools and a low crime rate, Gower has some of the most amazing scenery in the entire country. Getty Images Back in 1956, it was declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and ever since has been wowing tourists with its stunning beaches and lush green countryside. Interestingly, out of the other 600 UK locations that Boomin analysed, most of the top 20 destinations were based in the North West, along with Wales. No Southern location made it into the top edit.
