If you are thinking of booking flights somewhere this summer, you now have the dilemma of where to go. Ah, we’d forgotten how difficult choosing the perfect holiday location could be. After all, there’s so much to think about, from food and drink options, to the best beaches and activities available. And if you’re travelling with children, there’s even more to consider. Well, TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards are here to help. The annual awards take into account reviews, recommendations and ratings on the site to decide the hottest and most in-demand destinations around the world. Taking the top spot this year is Majorca in the Balearic Islands. The island attracts visitors from all over the world, thanks to its relaxing beaches, mountains and countryside. Following behind is the ancient city of Cairo in Egypt, which is one of the biggest cities in the Middle East (TripAdvisor notes its list was compiled before the political unrest there), and Rhodes, the largest of the 12 Dodecanese islands.
