We can expect to find some of the very best in London, but this year the top pick isn’t a five-star icon like The Ritz or the The Langham, oh no. TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice ‘Best of the Best’ Hotel Awards has declared a ‘hidden gem’ hotel, in the capital’s Covent Garden, comes out on top. The Resident Covent Garden is a four-star hotel that has been crowned the best in the UK for 2022, rising up from fourth place last year. Out of 1,027 guest reviews on TripAdvisor, an impressive 973 of them have given it the top ‘Excellent’ rating. The Resident Covent Garden TripAdvisor’s annual awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on the website over a 12-month period, so the results are based on the opinions of real travellers. The positive reviews for The Resident Covent Garden tend to mention the central London location and the Nespresso coffee machines in the bedrooms. ‘The staff were some of the most friendly and professional I have ever encountered,’ wrote one reviewer.
