If you’re looking for some inspiration, we’ve got just the place. Britain is full of lovely seaside towns to enjoy no matter the weather (though the sun does make a huge difference), but which one is considered the best? According to a new reader survey by Which?, one particular destination outshines them all and honestly, the result may very well surprise you. Bamburgh. Connect members to rate the beach, attractions, scenery, peace and quite, scenery, value for money and more for nearly 100 seaside towns and villages across the UK, Bamburgh in Northumberland was named as the best English seaside town to visit this summer. Described as ‘the British seaside at its low-key best’, Which? said of Bamburg: ‘[There’s] nothing to do here except walk, run, let the dog off the lead, or sit behind a windbreak with a Thermos and watch the waves roll in.’ Bamburgh. Image: Getty Images The town, which also took the title in 2021 and 2019, is known for its famous castle and walking trails but is also loved for its soft sandy beach. It was closely followed on the top ten list by Llandudno in Cornwall and St Andrews in Fife as the second and third best seaside towns, according to the survey.
