Speaking to HELLO! magazine, one royal fan who met the mum-of-three during a recent visit to Keswick, Cumbria said that Kate has a soft spot for trips to the Lake District. Getty Images ‘She said that it was raining a lot and was a long way from their home in Norfolk, but they love it here,’ they told the title, while another added: ‘She said that her children love coming here and walking in the fells. She told us how nice the Lake District was and how lucky we were to live so close to the mountains.’ So, it sounds like Kate and Prince William have been taking five-year-old Prince George, 4-year-old Princess Charlotte and one-year-old Prince Louis on some secret staycations over the last few years. However, we do know that despite their young ages, the two eldest royal children have also already travelled much further afield. Prince George undertook his first official royal tour at the age of just eight months old, when he joined his parents on a three-week trip to New Zealand and Australia. A short while after little sister Charlotte was born, The Duke and Duchess shared photographs from their first holiday as a family of four in the French Alps, which marked the first time either of the children had played in the snow – aww! Getty Images Since then, the Cambridges have toured Canada, Germany and Poland, and Prince Louis is the only member of the clan not to have been abroad yet – as far as we know. But hey, Louis, as your mum says, the Lake District really is a beautiful place to visit, so you’re definitely not missing out. We wonder when cousin Archie Harrison will be big enough to join the fun too.
