As warmer weather rolls in, evening BBQs and drinks with friends in our gardens or balconies are firmly back on the cards, and adding a sweet-smelling candle to the table setup is an effortless way to add atmosphere – especially if you don’t own garden lighting or a firepit. Well, good news, because Yankee have just launched its first ever outdoor candle collection, all created with the outdoor in mind and featuring special outdoor wicks that won’t blow out with the breeze. But that’s not all, each of the four fragrances has clever wax blended with citronella and essential oils, that will not only create a relaxing environment but are known for their insect-repelling properties. That’s right, say goodbye to frantically flailing your arms around while trying to focus on the conversation. And those who take their tablescaping seriously needn’t worry, as the brand have ensured that the stylish jars are an aesthetic addition to any outdoor space and the natural wood lids keep the candles clean when not in use, meaning no need to bring them inside. The four new scents include, Ocean Hibiscus, combining watermelon and cucumber with bright notes of water blossoms, orange sparkling lemon, cantaloupe and kiwi water, with an agua musk base; Sparkling Lemongrass with herb scents, rose, geranium, and a base of fresh linen and floral notes; Linden Tree Blossoms with waterlily, wisteria and linden blossom and the Fresh Rain candle is described as; ‘an orchard in bloom filled with notes of crisp apple and rose balanced with rosemary scents.’ Our summer soirees just got a whole lot more chic.
