YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors Dulux has revealed its colour of the year for 2023 By Kanika Banwait - September 15, 2022 Every year, Dulux announces a colour of the year after careful consideration from design and fashion experts. The colour usually reflects the times and captures the mood of world, and this year, the paint brand has named the colour of 2023 as Wild Wonder. Wild Wonder is a mix between green and a mustard yellow, and it’s ideal for those who prefer warmer neutral tones. Inspired ‘by the warm tones of harvested crops with an upbeat glow which connects us with the cycles of life, by creating a sense of energy and positivity’, it aims to add a sense of renewal into a space. Dulux Dulux says the shade was ‘created to capture the wonders of the earth’ and the brand hopes Wild Wonder will ‘inspire creativity and bring a sense of nature’s magic to our living and working spaces in 2023’. Particularly poignant considering the damage we’ve seen to nature this year, caused by the climate crisis. Although neutral, the colour isn’t the easiest to visualise in a room with other complementary hues. But Dulux has created four colour palettes to support it: Lush, Buzz, Raw, and Flow. Sourcing inspiration from nature, the Lush palette includes forest tones like ‘Old Time Olive’ and ‘Fresh Foliage’. However, the Buzz palette is made of brighter colours like ‘Rocksalt Rose’ and ‘Manuka Honeybee’ to add more of a pop. Dulux Earth palette Raw and water palette Flow are more subtle, with the former consisting of browns like ‘Woven Hemp’ and ‘Malted Caramel’. Flow shades include ‘Rockpool Ripple’ and ‘Midwinter Tide’. Dulux The Dulux colour of 2022 was Bright Skies – an optimistic shade that, at a time when we were confined to our homes, connected us with nature and the great outdoors. Clearly Dulux has chosen to continue the theme of nature with Wild Wonder, which is now available online and from retailers. Will you be adding it to your home?
