YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity Bridgerton’ s Phoebe Dynevor has just landed her first major film role in The Colour Room By You Magazine - March 19, 2021 She captivated audiences as Daphne in Netflix’s Bridgerton, the streaming service’s sensational hit that achieved a staggering 82 million viewers (and counting), and now Phoebe Dynevor, aka It girl of the moment, is set to star in a major film. Getty Images Set in the 1920s, The Colour Room will start Phoebe as the renowned ceramicist Clarice Cliff, who pioneered the Art Deco pottery movement that emerged out of Stoke-on-Trent. If you’ve been watching The Great Pottery Throw Down, that name will sound familiar to you – that’s because the contestant’s final challenge (aired just last weekend) was to create a set of pottery inspired by Clarice’s iconic and eye-catching work. Clarice’s vibrant, angular and geometric designs came to epitomise everything about the Art Deco movement the 1920s is now remembered for. So successful was she that two of her creations become the biggest sellers of the Depression in the 1930s and were stocked at Harrods and other reputable stores around the world. Clarice Cliff. It’s truly such an honour to take on such a remarkable character. The script is a beautifully written contemporary take on the 20th century, and I feel proud to be working with such a strong female team, both in front and behind the camera. I look forward to telling Clarice’s story and of course working with Matthew too.’ Liam Daniel/Netflix By Matthew, she means Matthew Goode, who you’ll know from Downton Abbey, Brideshead Revisited and The Crown, who will play Colley Shorter, one of the brothers who owned the Stoke pottery factory where Cliff worked and recognised her talents. We don’t yet have a release date for The Colour Room, but we do know that Phoebe is already brushing up on her pottery skills at the famous Wedgwood factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
