Open discussions and rising awareness have meant brands are also designing products specifically for menopausal women, so they are better equipped to cope with the changes they may face both physically and mentally. A few weeks ago, No7 launched a new skincare range to tackle skin concerns directly related to menopause, such as dryness, dullness and sensitivity. Now, Primark has launched its first ever menopause clothing range, which features a collection of nightwear, underwear and base layers designed to relieve symptoms associated with the hormonal changes, such as hot flushes. The lightweight, soft-touch fabric in the collection uses clever technology to regulate body temperature. Using a complex mix of yarns, the fabric absorbs heat from the surface of the skin during hot flushes then releases warmth during the chill that follows. The innovative material also wicks away excess moisture, controls odour and has an anti-bacterial coating, so you can still feel fresh during the day and get a more comfortable night’s sleep. Menopause Shaping Leggings, £10, Primark The collection features 14 pieces and prices range from £7 to £12, so you don’t have to spend a fortune to feel more comfortable. The affordable basics include shaping leggings, anti-chafe shorts, slips, T-shirts and cami tops. The menopause-friendly underwear includes high-waisted or mini briefs, as well as supportive but soft non-wired bralettes. As for nightwear, shoppers can pick up matching pyjama separates and slip-on nightdresses. 2pk Menopause Mini Briefs, £7, Primark What’s more, this collection is part of the Primark Cares label, which means it’s made using recycled nylon and recycled polyester.
