Synonymous with sartorial elegance, all guests are expected to come dressed in their finest garments, adhering to the requirements of the traditional event and as the years have gone on, this has meant incorporating some high fashion staples. This year, the Royal Ascot has once again teamed up with Cunard to curate the ultimate style guide for the lucky guests attending the event this June. So, here are just a few ideas on what you can wear… What to wear to Ascot Royal Enclosure For the Royal Enclosure, ladies are required to wear formal day wear. This means dresses and skirts should be of modest length (falling just above the knee or longer), all tops and dresses must have straps of one inch or greater, meaning no trapless, off the shoulder, halter neck or spaghetti straps allowed. Midriffs must be covered and pashminas and jackets can be worn. Trouser suits are also welcome, given they are matching colour and material, and jumpsuits are also allowed. Finally, hats must be worn but headpieces which have a solid base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter are also acceptable as alternatives.
