YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity What we know so far about the American remake of BBC’ s Miranda By You Magazine - March 1, 2019 Last year, it was revealed that hit BBC sit-com Miranda is getting an American remake under Warner Bros. However, very little was given away about the upcoming project… until now. The new version, which will be produced by star of the original show, Miranda Hart, and The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons has yet to receive a cast. However, one person who is already campaigning for her spot is Sarah Hadland, who played Stevie in the British original. Getty Images The actress has expressed that she is keen to travel across the pond to maintain her role in the American remake. Speaking to Radio Times, she said: ‘Somebody told me there’s going to be an American version of Miranda.’ ‘There’ll be an American Stevie, surely,’ she added. ‘I don’t know who would be an American Stevie.’ Sarah, who is currently voicing a fictional corgi owned by Donald Trump for a new animated movie before heading to the West End stage to star in Admissions, then admitted: ‘OK, I’ll start my campaign to be in it.’ Getty Images While we can only imagine Sarah as Stevie, who is Miranda’s best friend in the show, we reckon that decision all depends on who will be playing the American Miranda. The main role hasn’t been cast and we haven’t even heard any rumours about potential candidates, meaning Warner Bros. are really keeping things under wrap. Perhaps Jim Parsons will recruit some of his The Big Bang Theory colleagues to star in the show? We could totally see Melissa Rauch, who plays Howard’s girlfriend Bernadette, as an American Stevie. Though we do have our fingers crossed for Sarah. Miranda first launched in the UK back in 2009 and ran up until 2015, where it wrapped up with two Christmas specials following three six-part seasons. Fans will remember that we finally got the happy ending we wanted as Miranda finally married her long-time love interest Gary (played by Tom Ellis) and the two went off on a honeymoon together.
