YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life Relationships What you need to know about manifest-dating By Maddy Fletcher - August 31, 2022 Here’s a new term for you: manifest-dating. Confused? Let us explain. It all started after “manifesting” became a thing. Manifesting is the idea that if you say what you want enough times, you will manifest it into reality. Gen Zs love it. On TikTok videos with the hashtag #manifestation have racked up a whopping 20.2 billion views. Yes, billion. Anyway, manifest-dating is pretty much the same thing – only with your love life. In other words, if you say and think enough positive things about dating, the more positive your dating life will become. It sounds woo-woo, but apparently people are into it. According to the dating app Badoo – which coined the term manifest-dating – more than a quarter of singles have already given manifest-dating a go and almost two thirds are keen to try. No wonder they’re looking for answers. More (gloomy) research from Badoo found that 96% of daters struggle with negative thoughts, nerves, and self-sabotage when it comes to love. The most common worry (with 38% of singles) was doubting that their date is interested in them. But don’t worry, there’s good news. Badoo reckons that a whopping 74% of people who have tried manifest-dating have become luckier in love as a result. Better still, the dating app has teamed up with the full-time manifestation pro Francesca Amber to create a Manifest-dating guide. Read it below and get manifesting. Manifest-dating Guide Love yourself. Create a life you love full of friends, family, hobbies, travel – whatever it is you want. Never wait for or rely on a partner to enjoy the things that YOU love in life. Live that life already and only look to a partner to complement, enhance and share that life with you. Set the intention. Go on dates with an open mind and positive attitude and make your goal be to just have fun. Be open to new experiences and let people show you who they are. Create a vision board. Make a relationship vision board which includes a list of core values and attributes you want in a partner. If you start dating and get love blind you can look back clearly on what were your deal breakers. Make space. Intentionally clear a little mental space each week to let in the new, then literally declutter your life and environment. Make space in your home and your wardrobe by getting rid of everything that no longer serves you. The trick is to keep your space intentionally clear so that you only fill that space with the dating experiences that you want to attract. Remember, a partner doesn’t define you. The more you can bring to the table by being happy in your own life, confident in your own qualities and able to grow and evolve with somebody, the more success you will have with dating.
