Getty Images The BBC have already confirm new judge Motsi Mabuse, who will be replacing Dame Darcey Bussell in the upcoming 17th series. But that’s not all. The entire line-up of celebrity contestants have now been announced and we officially have an air date. Strictly will be back on Saturday, 7 September – so make sure you mark your calendars. The dancers Rex Features On 5 March, the BBC officially confirmed the line-up of professional dancers who will be in this year’s Strictly. However, unlike the usual 15, the number has been increased to 17. Show favourites Anton Du Beke (the only remaining dancer from the original show), Kevin Clifton (who won with partner Stacey last year) and Oti Mabuse are all among the returnees. But one Strictly veteran we won’t be seeing back on the show is Pasha Kovalev, who recently announced that he has quit the show after eight years. However, executive producer Sarah James promised that this year’s roster was still ‘full of familiar faces and fan favourites’ and she wasn’t wrong. It’s never too early for some #Strictly 2019 news. ??? We are excited to announce that our fabulous world class pros are back for the new series! https://t.co/Ik3KZQkaqA pic.twitter.com/cVafOywZBp - BBC Strictly (@bbcstrictly) March 4, 2019 The line-up consists of AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Neil Jones. The judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli will reprise their roles as the Strictly judging panel. However, they will be joined by Motsi Mabuse who will replace Dame Darcey Bussell as the fourth judge. BBC Recognise the surname? That’s because Motsi is the sister of Oti Mabuse, a professional dancer on the show. Just like her sister, Motsi is a successful dancer with impressive accolades including the title of South African Champion and German Latin Champion in 2009 and 2010. She has spent the past eight years working on Let’s Dance, the German version of Strictly Come Dancing, and will be making the move over to the UK this summer to kick off her debut on the BBC show in September. The presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return as presenters on the primetime show. Meanwhile Zoe Ball will be joined by Rylan Clark-Neal, the new co-host of the show’s BBC2 spin-off, It Takes Two.
