Getty Images The 76-year-old singer has shared the secret behind her youthful glow and says that it can be attributed to her strict avoidance of UV rays. The ‘Jolene’ singer has previously admitted to having multiple cosmetic surgery procedures, including a face lift, but believes that her flawless complexion isn’t just down to the knife. Talking to Insider on Sunday, the star said she has always been in the healthy habit of using high quality facial sunscreens. ‘I never got out in the sun,’ she says. ‘I don’t have a lot of the same problems that women my age do ’cause I never baked myself in the sun. I would’ve if I’d been able to tan but I couldn’t, so now I’m glad!’ Dolly Parton also revealed that she’s not fussy when it comes to her products, insisting that the best skincare creams and moisturisers aren’t always the priciest. ‘I don’t think you have to pay a ton of money to have good products,’ she explains. ‘Most of the products that cost less are just as good, and sometimes better than the ones that cost a fortune. I don’t buy for fame. I just buy the ones that work for me.’ And Dolly’s money-savvy skincare technique is one that is backed by experts, who are keen to stress that approximately 90–95 per cent of what we perceive as inevitable skin ageing is actually caused by sun exposure.
