But it’s not only celebs that are throwing it back to yesteryear, throwback fragrances have also seen a spike in sales recently, with these nostalgic scents matching the resurgence in low-rise jeans and micro mini skirts. Well, according to sales data from Perfume Direct, they are just three of the bestselling perfumes created in the 90s and 00s eras that have risen in popularity since the release of this year’s spring summer fashion collections. Speaking about the rise in sales of long-ago created classics, Jonny Webber, Perfume Direct’s founder, explains: ‘Sales of some of the noughties’ most popular fragrances are on the rise as people embrace everything that the early 1990s and 2000s had to offer. Fragrance has the power to instantly transport us back to a moment in time, evoking memories and giving us the feel good factor that a lot of people are craving right now.’ He added: ‘While many millennials might not be rushing to dust off their old 00s hipster jeans, a perfume is the perfect way to embrace the trend and relive their youth.’ And, if you weren’t yet convinced about adding one of these retro perfumes back into your repertoire, perhaps the price might convince you. These throwback scents don’t come with the same hefty price tag that many of our contemporary favourites do, with most bottles retailing at less than £30. Sold?
