The company has revealed that serious security vulnerabilities in some of its products could allow hackers to take complete control of these devices. On Wednesday the company said it was ‘aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited’, although they didn’t give any indication of how many people had been affected by this vulnerability. Security experts have advised users to run updates on the affected devices – the iPhones 6S and later models; several models of the iPad, including the fifth generation and later, all iPad Pro models and the iPad Air 2; and Mac computers running MacOS Monterey. Some iPod models are also included. The company’s explanation of the issue means that a hacker could obtain ‘full admin access to the device’ and ‘execute any code as if they are you, the user,’ Rachel Tobac, CEO of SocialProof Security told AP.
