YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Fashion These noughties brands are making a comeback on resale sites By Georgia Green - April 1, 2022 Fashion trends have always come and gone in cycles. While the last few years have seen nineties trends like mom jeans, butterfly clips and slip dresses come back around, for 2022 it seems no one can get enough of noughties fashion. Getty Images Noughties defines the time period between 2000-2009. Up until now, clothing and accessories have generally had to be at least 20 years old to be considered vintage, but with fashion trends seemly turning around much faster these days, noughties fashion is already back in the spotlight. Vintage resale sites like Vinted have seen peak noughties brands skyrocket in popularity recently, with labels like Juicy Couture, Miss Sixty and Fila proving to be among the most popular. Since the noughties wasn’t that long ago, it’s likely you’ve got some of these brands still lurking in the depths of your wardrobe or attic, so it’s an ideal time to dig them out – you’ll likely be able to flog them on sites like Vinted for a decent price right now. Alamy Natacha Blanchard, consumer lead at Vinted, said, ‘Fashion trends always come in cycles and it seems this year, the nostalgia spotlight is on the fashion of the noughties, or Y2K. Although the popularity is being driven in part by Gen Z, with Y2K being their first real vintage era, for others, it’s an opportunity to celebrate nostalgia in a way that can be appreciated by all.’ ‘The brands experiencing a vintage comeback include Miss Sixty, Miss Me, Von Dutch, Plein Sud, Morgan, Blumarine, Fila, Juicy Couture, Guess, as well as designer fashion houses Jean Paul Gaultier and Roberto Cavalli. For example, the above Juicy Couture tracksuit with the iconic diamanté ‘Juicy’ on the back of the zip-up top and trousers is going for £145 on Vinted.
