In fact, they already are. Stylish influencers and celebrities have been donning the Western-style boot all summer long. Jodie Comer wore a pair to Wilderness festival, which she teamed with a ditsy floral tea dress, the boots lending a toughened edge to an otherwise pretty, feminine outfit. Getty Images There are lots of styles of cowboy boot to choose from, too. If you’re not that confident with the trend, you can’t go wrong with classic plain black à la Jodie. Her shorter ankle-length version also makes hers slightly easier to pull off than a full calf-length style. However, if you’re feeling up to it, go for the taller styles and, if you’re really looking to channel that ‘main character energy’, go for a colourful, embroidered or appliqué styles. To follow in Jodie’s boot-clad footsteps, we’ve found plenty of cowboy boots on the high street from £44. For nights out and festivals we’re in love with Stradivarius’ metallic silver boots, while River Island’s flame, star and snakeskin embellished pair shout Americana with an added yee-haw. As for styling, you can go full-on with a ruffled, paisley, boho-style dress, but the 2022 way to wear the cowboy boot is with a mini skirt. Wear bare-legged with dresses and shorts now then, in autumn swap to jeans, longer-length midi and maxi dresses or add tights.
