YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life These are BAFTA’ s best must-see TV moments from the past year By Kanika Banwait - March 25, 2022 We have been totally spoiled with good television in the past year. From gripping TV dramas to trending Netflix hits, we can’t get enough of satisfying telly. Whatever your favourite TV show has been recently, there are certain moments that will stay in our memories for a very long time. In fact, BAFTA has recently announced its list of must watch TV moments ahead of the Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards on 8 May. So what’s on the list? Take a look here… An Audience With Adele One of the highlights of late last year was Adele’s come back. To celebrate her new album, ITV hosted a special Audience With Adele episode. It was full of stunning musical performances, laughter, emotion and celebrities like Emma Watson, Idris Elba, Dawn French andAlan Carr. Who could forget Emma Thompson’s epic dancing? But one of the highlights of the show was when Adele’s secondary school English teacher Miss McDonald emerged from the crowd. The pair had an emotional reunion on stage for the first time in over 15 years, and we don’t know about you, but we certainly got teary-eyed. It’ s A Sin This brilliant drama from Russell T Davies was an emotional rollercoaster highlighting the history of the 80s AIDS crisis. The tear-jerking It’ s A Sin moment that’s been nominated for a BAFTA is the scene where Colin receives his fateful AIDS diagnosis. Squid Game Netflix Squid Game was all anyone could talk about for weeks. One of the Netflix show’s most nail-biting moments has been nominated for an award, featuring the Red Light Green Light game. We all waited with bated breath to see who would make it to the finish line and defeat the creepy mass-murder doll. RuPaul’ s Drag Race UK ‘Bing Bang Bong, Sing Sang Song, UK Hun?!’ If you watched the second season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK, you’ll know the struggle of having that song stuck in your head for days. One of the most successful drag queens to come out of the show, Bimini Bon Boulash, penned an impressive verse in the RuRuVision Song Contest song ‘UK Hun?’ which has been nominated for an award. I m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Ant and Dec are used to receiving BAFTA awards, but they’ve been nominated for yet another one. It comes from the moment in I m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here where the hosts made a jibe at Boris Johnson and the Downing Street lockdown parties. Strictly Come Dancing There was silence in living rooms across the nation as we watched Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice’s stunning Couple’s Choice in week eight of Strictly Come Dancing. In case you missed it, the live band stopped playing in the middle of the performance while Rose and Giovanni continued to dance in silence. It was a lovely and touching tribute to the deaf community. What a line-up of nominees! If you’ve got a favourite must watch TV moment on the list, you can have your say here, as this BAFTA award is voted for by the public.
